SAFETY & DRIVER ASSIST
Own every parking space. Versa’s backup camera helps you by displaying what’s directly behind you. When you’re reversing, the Rear Sonar System beeps when it senses a nearby stationary object. Time for a break? Available Intelligent Driver Alertness monitors your steering patterns, and if it detects that you might be getting drowsy, it alerts you with a chime and a coffee cup icon on your display. Get a grip on slippery terrain. Vehicle Dynamic Control senses over and under-steer. In a pinch, it reduces engine output and applies select brakes to help you regain control. Versa also offers the Traction Control System, which functions similarly to help keep your wheels from spinning out.
Nissan Safety Shield® 360
Smarter safety goes hand in hand with the Nissan Safety Shield® 360. This available suite of six advanced features can watch out all around you and help you avoid hazards. Boost awareness and react faster. Standard Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection monitors your speed and distance in relation to the car ahead. In a pinch, it can automatically apply the brakes to help you avoid a collision or reduce an impact. And if it detects a pedestrian crossing, it can stop you in your tracks. Back up with an extra set of eyes. Standard Rear Automatic Braking watches out for stationary objects behind your Versa. If it detects something creeping up too fast, it can automatically engage the brakes to help you avoid a rear collision or lessen the severity of an impact.
Know you're in the clear before you change lanes. Available Blind Spot Warning helps keep an eye on your blind spot area, alerting you when it detects another vehicle hiding there. Take on busy parking lots. When you're backing out of a space, available Rear Cross Traffic Alert looks out for other vehicles, warning you when it detects one approaching from either side.
Stay on the right track. Standard Lane Departure Warning helps make sure you change lanes only when you mean to. If the system detects that you’re drifting over the lines, haptic feedback on the steering wheel can let you know. Improve visibility when driving after dark. Standard High Beam Assist turns down your high beam headlights when it senses oncoming traffic. Once that traffic has passed, the system automatically reactivates your brights, so there's no need to look for the switch.
